A LITTLE PIECE OF EARTH INSIDE YOUR HOME
If the flooring for your kitchen sets the tone of the room, then selecting the right countertop to go with it is the icing on the cake. It is true: a great countertop not only accents the room aesthetically, but also adds to the functionality of the kitchen, which is in essence a workspace. Thus, the sales and service team at Tile Source of Dalton, Georgia not only offer design consultation, measurement, and countertop installation services, but countertop fabrication services as well. As a result, we’ve provided you with this short guide to answer any questions you may have about the countertop fabrication process.
MATERIAL SELECTION
…and many more
Our passion at Tile Source of Dalton is taking your design ideas and making them a reality. After you have taken advantage of our free design consultation services and have an idea about what it is you are going for in your kitchen, you will want to select the material. Whether you want to go with natural stones like granite, quartz, marble, or limestone, our facility boasts the best selection of stone in Northwest Georgia and the Chattanooga Metro Area. That being said, our fabricators will walk you through the process of determining the characteristics of each type of stone, as well as each particular slab. This is because each slab is unique and will ultimately be shaped and cut based on your particular needs.
Measurement
After you’ve chosen the material, the next step is for the fabricator to take precise measurements of the space your countertop will be installed in. Since you have likely determined where sinks and islands will be located, this is a very important step because the fabricator must take measurements for these amenities. Our fabricators will come to your site and take the measurements prior to doing any cutting.
Cutting
The cutting process is involved and meticulous, yet the first step is cut the stone slab into pieces that are easier for the fabricator to work with. After that, the measurements that were taken on site are applied. Furthermore, this is where the real work begins. The fabricator uses special tools to make sure your countertop is cut to the precise measurements taken on site.
Polishing And Installation
After the raw stone has been cut and the precise measurements have been applied, the fabricator will move on to the final, exciting stage: polishing. This is where the art and brilliance of the stone comes to life. The fabricator will go through different stages of polishing materials until the edges and surfaces are shiny and smooth. After that, the countertop is sealed. This will protect it from stains and spills and add to the life of the countertop. After that, it time for the countertop to be installed. Consequently, Tile Source has a team of professional installers that will reliably do the job for you.
