What is Granite? Granite is a collection of different types of minerals and rocks that consist of quartz, potassium feldspar, mica, amphiboles, and a hint of other minerals. The consistency of the material in the granite is 20–60% quartz, 10-65% feldspar, and 5-15% micas. This combination of minerals makes granite a very durable stone that makes it very unlikely to scratch or stain. Each origin of the granite is what gives the countertop the unique look you are looking for inside of your house. Granite ranges from white, to black, to brown, to gold, to blue, and basically any color combination you can dream of. This gives you plenty of options to choose from when imagining what your home is going to look like.
